When Detroit was first founded by the French back in the early 1700s it was originally a fort. 1765 the town had grown to 800 with only one kindred among them whose name is lost to time however it was he who originally made it an Sanctified city. This is how it was until 1805 where a huge fire destroyed most of the settlement, the Sanctified Prince, and most of the Kindred population was also put to final death in the blaze. However, not nine years earlier did the town become American controlled and 1805 being the year that the Carthian Movement was “officially” founded in New York there is speculation as to whether this was not caused by “would be” Carthain supporters to secure a stronger foot hold in the states.
In 1815 Detroit was declared a city and after there being no official government being in place for some time a Coterie of Carthains arrived in the city declaring Detroit a “Free City” officially making Detroit a Carthian city. For a long time things were good under Carthian rule the connections and allies the Carthians formed with the mortal government and business proved useful. In world war two the city was nicknamed Arsenal of Democracy only later be called the Motor city for its booming car industry. However by the 1970s Decadence and debauchery were seeping into the Carthian’s once perfect city with the introduction for Heroin and Cocaine into the city high ranking members were drawn into the cesspool like their mortal retainers. It is even rumored that disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa was an attempt by Carthians to keep the city stable but no evidence has been brought forward and for many kindred in the city is better off left that way.
By the close of the 70s the once great Carthian beacon of hope and prosperity was gone. In the Early 80’s however a new Kindred came to the failing city he went by the name of Baron Charles Black and he brought with him a treasure trove of resources none are sure where this money came from but on the same account no one really cared. He soon started buying out some of the older decrepit buildings in the down town area. By the early 90s Baron black controlled most of the down town area and by the close of the 20th century none could dispute that Black was Indeed Prince of Detroit and Detroit was under Invictus Rule.
